The past two weekends have been a combination of celebration and play. Last weekend T and I celebrated our 5-year wedding anniversary by taking D to the zoo. This was our first time going as a family and we had a great time. The Phoenix Zoo is voted one of the nation’s top 5 zoos for kids, and there is definitely no shortage of entertainment for our 2-year-old. From all the touch-and-learn exhibits to Monkey Village, the petting farm and the endangered species carousel, we became members so we can enjoy this wonderful zoo more in the coming “outdoor” months.
This weekend, we took advantage of what we hope to be the last really hot weekend of the summer and went to a water park to cool off. We also made our own fun at home by playing dress up, dancing, drawing, reading, cutting out fun shapes in our fresh batch of playdough, and potty training (yes, it was fun because M&Ms were involved – more to come on that later).
I love a weekend that combines a little variety whether at home or away. And with fall just around the corner, I’m giddy with anticipation to move outdoors once again.
What did you do this weekend?
