Star Light, Star Bright

As a rule, Tyson and I have “date night” at least once a week. It’s easy to get caught up in all the stress of work and responsibilities, so this is our time to be together and enjoy each other’s company without interruption. Most of the time it’s just dinner somewhere close to our house, but last night was a little different. We still ate dinner out, thanks to a nice gift card from Tyson’s boss. After the great dinner, I whipped us up some hot chocolate, we grabbed the dog and some blankets and headed north out of the city lights to take in the meteor shower. We were out for about 45 mins and saw over 20 shooting stars. It was amazing and very romantic (Tyson’s idea). We would have stayed out ’til the predicted grand finale at midnight, but the chill was starting to break through our jackets (yes, we have officially become warm-weather natives).

It was a great way to end the day. Be sure to look up once in a while and enjoy our vast universe. It’s certainly awe-inspiring.
